Missed my stop because the bus driver didn't call out the street

dude that's brutal, especially in the rain. i had the same thing happen on the 15 last winter and it drove me nuts. what finally worked for me was just sitting near the front and making eye contact with the driver a couple stops before mine. then i'd say "hey can you let me know when we get to 28th and albert?" or whatever my stop was. they always remember if you look them in the eye and ask nicely instead of just yelling from the back lol. also some busses here have those little digital signs that show the next stop but they're broken half the time on the older ones. another tip is track the bus on google maps on your phone and set a reminder alert for when you get close. saved me a bunch of times when the driver just zipped right past.

TIL I was cleaning my demand regulator wrong for 3 years

I read somewhere that salt crystals can actually get inside the diaphragm and mess with the cracking pressure. That's why a simple rinse doesn't cut it for long term. A guy on another forum said his Apeks reg started freeflowing out of nowhere and it was all salt buildup inside the second stage. Soaking in warm soapy water seems like the way to go for sure.

Showerthought: I keep seeing folks ask the same basic questions over and over here.

Yeah, I gotta gently push back on that a little. In my experience, when a forum gets flooded with only simple questions and nobody sticking around to answer the deeper stuff, the real glue that holds a community together starts to crumble. It's not about gatekeeping, it's about keeping a balance so the place doesn't turn into a one-way help desk.

Why does nobody talk about using a heat gun on old window trim adhesive?

Hold on, doesn't heat like that mess with the paint underneath? I've seen guys do exactly what you're describing and it bubbles the clear coat if you're not careful, especially on door edges where the paint is already thin. Plus with old cars like that Civic, the metal can warp or the glue underneath can catch fire if you hold it too long. I'd rather take the hour scraping by hand than risk having to repaint a whole panel, you know?

Am I the only one who trims door jambs with a multi-tool instead of a jamb saw?

Has anyone considered how the multi-tool handles on prefinished doors versus raw wood? I found that on prefinished stuff, the lack of vibration with the multi-tool saves you from chipping the factory coating, which a jamb saw always seems to catch. That alone makes it worth the extra time for me, especially if the homeowner is picky about touch-ups.
