My friend's kid asked if AI could be sad and it really got me thinking

We were talking about a new music generator I was trying, and his 8-year-old just asked, 'If it makes a sad song, does it feel sad too?' It was a simple question, but it hit different because it made me realize we talk about AI like a tool, but we treat it like a mind. Anyone else have a moment that made you question how we talk about AI?

Honestly, that kid is asking the real questions. I catch myself doing the same thing when my phone's voice assistant sounds a little too friendly. Tbh, it's kind of wild how fast we all started saying 'please' to a smart speaker. Makes you feel a bit silly when you think about it.
