Found my old Bop It in a box at my mom's house last month

I was helping her clean out the attic and pulled this purple plastic thing from a bin. I put in batteries, not expecting much. The voice sounded tinny but familiar. I started playing, and my hands just knew what to do, like muscle memory from 20 years ago. I got to level 15 before I messed up, which is way better than I ever did as a kid. It was still fun, but in a different way, more about the memory than the game itself. Has anyone else dug up an old toy and been surprised at how it felt?

PSA: My $80 magnetic socket holder was a total waste of money on the line

I bought a GearWrench 20 piece set thinking it would keep my sockets organized during a heavy check on a 737. The magnets just weren't strong enough, and the whole thing tipped over when I bumped it, scattering sockets into a panel. I had to spend an extra hour doing an FOD check. Anyone have a better tool organization method for a busy hangar floor?

Just realized those '5 minute daily journal' apps actually work after my therapist suggested one called Reflectly.

I was sure it was a gimmick, but writing for five minutes every morning for a month has genuinely cut down my anxiety. Anyone else have a simple habit they thought was nonsense until they tried it?

My grocery bill in Denver jumped $50 last month and I finally found the leak

I was checking my bank account and saw my usual grocery store charge was way up. Turns out, I'd been grabbing a fancy coffee drink and a snack every single time I went in for milk or bread. I started making a strict list and only going once a week, which cut that extra spending right out. Has anyone else had a small habit that quietly wrecked their food budget?

I was running wire in a crawl space wrong for years and a new guy showed me why

I always thought the best way to pull wire through a tight crawl space was to just push the spool ahead of me and feed it out. Did it that way for maybe eight years. Last month, I was training a new helper on a job in a 1950s house in Springfield. He watched me struggle for ten minutes, then just said, 'Why don't you unspool the whole run on the grass outside first and then just pull the whole line through?' I felt like an idiot. I was fighting friction and snags the whole time because the spool kept catching on joists. His way took half the time and no cussing. It was such a simple fix for a basic task I do all the time. Has anyone else had a 'duh' moment like that with a routine part of the job?

Why does nobody talk about the scalper bots at the local con?

I saw the line for the exclusive variant cover at the Chicago con last month, and it was 90% resellers with ticket printers. The actual fans who camped out got nothing because the system was flooded in under a minute. How do we even fight this?
