My old Nokia 3310 lasted a week on one charge, so maybe we're all the problem now.

Timer is the real hero.

I once thought regular treated wood was fine, but @samhernandez is right about marine-grade for salty areas.

Try recording a voice memo on your phone when you need to talk something out. I do this when my thoughts feel stuck (way less pressure than talking to a person). Hearing my own words played back often shows me where my logic is fuzzy or what I really feel.

Has anyone else found that kind of noise actually helps them concentrate after a while? I read something once about how repeating sounds can become a steadying rhythm for your brain. I see where @rodriguez.charles is coming from with the background hum idea, turning a weird quirk into part of the shop's vibe. My friend's conure does this with his drill and now the silence feels wrong without it.
