DAE have a bird that mimics your sander noise?
It drove me nuts at first, but now it's kind of a funny background track. Honestly makes the workshop feel more alive.

My old shop had a parrot that copied power tools nonstop. Drove me up the wall when I was trying to actually measure and focus. Funny for a visitor maybe, but brutal for getting real work done.

Understand @the_fiona's point about focus. I actually like the bird copying my tools. It adds a nice background hum to the shop.

Has anyone else found that kind of noise actually helps them concentrate after a while? I read something once about how repeating sounds can become a steadying rhythm for your brain. I see where @rodriguez.charles is coming from with the background hum idea, turning a weird quirk into part of the shop's vibe. My friend's conure does this with his drill and now the silence feels wrong without it.
