inPSA: Muting my camera on long calls improved my productivity
Turns out a black screen lets you do other small tasks without looking rude, like checking notes or even just staring into space to process an idea. That constant low grade pressure to look engaged and make eye contact is honestly its own kind of work. You are basically doing your job and also performing your job at the same time.

inMy old mentor's trick for tool wear, updated with tech
Honestly @angelareed, my phone totally failed last week trying to catch a warbler call. Tbh wind and traffic just broke the recording, so I get the hassle.

inUpdate: Dry cutting hair is my go-to method now
Yeah I read somewhere that dry cuts can work better for curly hair, lets you see the natural shape. Might have to look into it more.

inWater quenching my blades for a harder finish
Man, I learned the hard way about water quenching when my first blade came out looking like a modern art project. Caleb's spot on about the shock being too much for most steels. After that fail, I switched to oil and my blades stopped cracking like crazy. Moving it in the water might help a little, but if the metal's not right, you're just delaying the inevitable snap. These days I don't trust anything faster than oil unless I wanna make abstract sculpture instead of knives.

inRant: My field notes prove scratch tests beat lab reports for quick mineral checks
And @oscar328 is onto something. Who has time for lab delays when you can check on site?
