Actually, just a heads up for anyone reading Garcia.wade's cool elk story. Those are usually cows and calves down by the river in spring. Bull elk mostly hang higher up until fall. Still a really neat sighting though!

Yeah, that panic when you see the last of the chute hit and there's still a pile left is something else. What saved me was calling the concrete company dispatch right from the site. Sometimes they have another pour nearby that's short and can send a truck over in minutes to take the extra off your hands before it turns. I got lucky once and they redirected about half a yard to a neighbor's foundation repair.
