Read an article that called it "the tyranny of the fast schedule." Totally get what @bethj44 means about her grandpa, that three coat method was about pride not just speed. We just don't build in that kind of care anymore.

inMy local hardware store gave me a choice: wait two weeks for a special order or take a different brand right now.
Notice it with streaming services too, they swap shows without warning. Makes you feel like you don't really own anything anymore, just rent it until they change their mind. The whole idea of picking a favorite and sticking with it is just gone.
