My barber said collecting comics is just hoarding with a theme

I was getting a haircut yesterday and mentioned my hunt for a specific X-Men issue. My barber, this older guy named Vince, just shook his head and said, 'Sounds like hoarding with a theme to me.' He wasn't being mean, but it stuck with me. He argued that buying stuff you never read, just to have it, is the same logic. I've always seen my collection as a library, but now I'm questioning if there's a line. For those with big stacks, do you actually read your books or just own them?

Am I the only one who thinks those new 'repair cafes' are a bad idea?

My dad insisted I use 3-inch deck screws for a cedar planter box, but after a year in Seattle rain, the wood split. He says it's the cedar's fault, I think it was the screws.
