Even the mailman noticed our clean fence line today

Ask what kind of prep work you did on the old fence line before setting the new posts. That's usually where you see the difference between a good job and a great one, and if the mailman noticed the straight lines from the street, your crew must have nailed the layout.

I never considered posture until a long paint job left me sore. Now I focus on how I stand.

Read somewhere that bad posture during repetitive tasks sends your body all the wrong signals. robert246's human question mark bit nails that feeling.

TIL how to stop my door from warping in Albuquerque's climate

Yeah, that absolutely works for other wood. My kitchen had one cabinet door that wouldn't close right for months. Warped from the dry air just like you said. I stuck a small humidifier in there for a couple weeks, not even running it all the time. The wood relaxed back into shape and the door latches fine now. Just don't overdo it and crank the humidity too high.

Talking with a mentor from the 90s made me think about hands-on skills vs. machines

Totally get where you're coming from. My aunt was an esthetician back in the day, and she always talked about reading skin with her fingers, not a screen. Now it's all these machines that zap or scan, and you wonder if the personal touch is gone. Sure, gadgets can be exact, but there's an ART to feeling a texture change or spotting pore issues just by touch. Sometimes the old ways just connected better, you know?
