TIL how to stop my door from warping in Albuquerque's climate
My front door was getting stuck from the dry air. I added a small room humidifier, and it fixed the issue completely. Could this method help with older wooden cabinets too?

Yeah, that absolutely works for other wood. My kitchen had one cabinet door that wouldn't close right for months. Warped from the dry air just like you said. I stuck a small humidifier in there for a couple weeks, not even running it all the time. The wood relaxed back into shape and the door latches fine now. Just don't overdo it and crank the humidity too high.

Hold up, that humidifier trick seems risky. Wood warping isn't always from dry air, sometimes it's from bad construction or water damage already in the wood. Adding moisture back could just swell other parts and make the problem worse in a different way. You might get the door to latch now but cause hidden mold or soften the glue in the joints. It's a temporary fix that doesn't address why it warped in the first place. I'd just reshape the door with weights or adjust the hinges for a permanent solution.

Actually, I've fixed three warped doors that way and they're still fine years later.
