My comic book win: From solo stories to loving team books
I always read just one hero like Batman or Spider-Man. Team comics seemed too crowded and hard to follow. Then my buddy lent me a old Avengers issue. Seeing them fight together was actually really cool. Now I check out groups like the Fantastic Four too. It feels like I found a new part of being a fan. This small step made my hobby way better.

See, I had the total opposite thing happen. I got burned out on big team books where you need a chart to know who's who. Give me a tight solo story any day, like those Daredevil runs where you really get into one guy's head. Teams always feel like somebody's favorite character gets shoved to the side.

My cousin tried to get me into a huge crossover event once. He handed me a stack of books with a family tree of characters taped to the front. I spent more time looking at the chart than reading the actual story. It felt like homework for a subject I didn't even take. Sometimes you just want to follow one person's bad day, not a whole city's worth of drama.

Jonathan Hickman's Avengers run actually made me appreciate big teams. He managed to give even minor characters moments that mattered, like Sunspot getting his own squad. The scope of that story, with all those moving parts, created a tension you can't get from one hero alone. A good team book feels like a world, not just a person.
