My friend said board game geeks are just people who like to read rulebooks

Honestly, I used to be that guy who'd fight over every little rule. Now I'd rather just play the game and keep things moving.

Saw a digital art piece at the Seattle Art Fair that made me think about how we value art now...

That's a cool idea. My own creative process is mostly just staring at a blank screen for an hour before giving up (which is way less fun to watch).

Pro tip: My baggage fee shock on a weekend trip

Cole103 has a point about wearing the bulky stuff... saw a travel blog that took it even further, suggesting you wear a jacket with big pockets and stuff socks or a light sweater in them. The whole system feels like a game you have to play just to avoid extra charges. Makes packing stressful because you're planning your airport outfit like it's a tactical mission. Kind of crazy when you just want to be comfortable on a long flight.

I spent $400 on a smart thermostat and it turned my house into a sauna during a heatwave because it got confused by the solar panels.

Why does tech that's supposed to help always seem to make things worse?

Showerthought: A client's offhand remark about my baseboard cuts made me change my whole approach

My buddy had the exact same thing happen with crown molding. A foreman saw him struggling with a miter saw and taught him to cope. He said it changed his whole workflow for the better, saving tons of time on clean-up and adjustments. It's one of those tricks that seems harder than it is.
