inI used to hate the color orange until I saw a dress in a Portland shop window
Watched my friend swear off pink after a bad bridesmaid dress, then she tried on a dusty rose blazer that looked amazing on her. It's wild how one good piece can rewrite your whole color rulebook, kinda like @the_miles finding the right yellow. She basically lives in that blazer now.

inVent: I lost $500 to a fake invoice email because I clicked a link
Man, that's rough, sorry to hear it. These scammers are getting way too good at copying real emails. My cousin almost fell for one pretending to be from his bank last week, the logo and everything looked perfect. He caught it because the sender email was a weird mix of letters, but it was super close. Makes you double check every single link now, which is just exhausting.

inI called those 'amateur' Jupiter photos fake for years, then I saw one through my own scope
Honestly, it's just a picture of a dot in the sky. I get that it's neat you can see a spot on it now, but people act like it's some huge life changing event. It's the same planet that's been up there. A few years ago you were happy just to see it as a disc, now you need to see the storms on it or it's not good enough. Seems like the hobby just becomes about buying the next piece of tech to see a slightly clearer dot.

inAppreciation post: my $400 star tracker was a game changer after years of blurry shots.
Gear just collects light" is a cop out for bad photos.

inOverheard a guy at the cafe say his game group fell apart over a missing meeple
You're right, it's never really about the missing piece.
