My cross stitch project got tangled after 6 hours of work last night

I was working on a gift for my sister in Portland, this little floral pattern with like 12 different green shades. Got halfway through the backstitch and realized I knotted the thread in three different places without noticing. Has anyone else had trouble with those cheap plastic bobbins from the craft store unwinding on you?

12 different green shades sounds like a recipe for trouble. I've noticed cheap supplies always fail right when you think you're almost done. It's like the universe has a clock that runs out on you.

You're spot on about that timing thing. "The universe has a clock" is exactly how it feels sometimes. I ran into this same mess when I was painting my kitchen last year. I went with a cheaper brand because I was trying to save money, and three cans in I realized the color was slightly different batch to batch. Had to strip everything and start over with a name brand. Cost me twice as much in the end and an extra weekend. Now I just pay the extra upfront and avoid the headache.
