My 'fresh' cooler was actually a flower killer for months
I finally figured out why my white hydrangeas kept wilting in under a day. A customer mentioned their home thermostat was set to 68, and I realized my cooler was running at 50 degrees, way too warm for delicate stuff. Anyone else have a cooler temp they swear by for specific blooms?

My local flower market keeps their bulk roses at a crisp 38 degrees. I run my cooler at 34 for most things, but I learned the hard way with orchids. They get mad and get spots if it's under 40. For mixed bouquets with greens, I split the difference and keep it at a steady 36.

My cooler's just a fancy beer fridge now.

Wait, do orchids really get spots from the cold? I thought that was usually a fungus from water sitting on the petals.
