Just finished a 500 sq ft herringbone pattern and had to pick between a jigsaw or coping saw for the final cuts

Went with the jigsaw and a fine blade, and the fit around the fireplace was perfect. Anyone have a better tool for those tight inside corners on engineered hardwood?

Nice! Jigsaw with a fine blade is solid for that. Honestly though, for those super tight inside corners on engineered wood, I keep an oscillating tool handy. Slap on a flush cut blade and you can sneak right into the corner for a perfect fit without risking any tear-out on the face. Way more control than a jigsaw when you're working in a tight spot. Just go slow and let the tool do the work.

Totally agree with @kai_brown23 on the oscillating tool for corners. Had to fit some planks around a tricky fireplace last month and that method saved me. The jigsaw was just too jumpy in that tight space, even with a new blade. The flush cut on the oscillating tool just shaved off that little bit extra for a perfect line. Felt way less likely to mess up the good side of the board.
