My first house inspection turned into a weird treasure hunt
The inspector was checking the attic last week and found a box labeled 'tax stuff' from 1998. Inside were just 47 old cassette tapes of someone's garage band. The seller's agent got on the phone and we all stood around listening to a fuzzy recording of a song called 'Tuesday's Rain' for a solid ten minutes. I had to ask if the band name, 'The Leaky Faucets', was some kind of joke about the plumbing. Has anyone else found something totally random during a walk-through that made you question the whole house history?

Vintage nudie mags under the floorboards" really sets a high bar for awkward finds. At least with the cassettes you got a free, if terrible, concert. I'd take bad music over explaining that stash to my partner any day.

Found a whole collection of vintage nudie mags under the floorboards once. Made the final walk-through super awkward. Always check the weird spots before closing.

Check every cabinet and drawer during the final walk-through. Found a full set of dentures in a kitchen cupboard once. Seller claimed they forgot them. Had to argue to get them removed before closing. You never know what people will leave behind.
