Switched to a different hoof knife after a tough job in Bend

I was working on a draft horse in Bend last week and my old knife just wasn't cutting it, literally. I switched to a Mustad 4-inch blade and the difference in cleaning out the frog was huge, way cleaner and faster. Has anyone else found a specific tool that made a big jump in your work speed?

Honestly used to think a knife was just a knife until I tried a proper curved blade on a big Percheron. That Mustad you mentioned gets into the central sulcus like nothing else, no more picking at it. Reminds me of what west.wendy said about her rasp, sometimes the right tool just clicks. My old straight blade would skate over the tough stuff, but this one bites in and cleans it out in one pass.

Wait you guys are working on draft horses? That's huge, I can't even imagine. Robert_rodriguez66 talking about a Percheron makes my back hurt just reading it.

Switching to a sharper rasp made my last trim go twice as fast.
