Still waiting 45 minutes for my coffee order because I asked for oat milk instead of regular

I'm at this local cafe downtown and watched the barista remake my drink three times. First they used regular milk, then they scalded the oat milk, then they put it in the wrong cup size. I feel bad for the people behind me but also like... the menu says they have oat milk right there. Has anyone else had a simple swap turn into a whole ordeal?

45 minutes for oat milk is just standard operating procedure at most places honestly. Sounds like they're trying, it's just not going well.

i mean @fiona_clark that's basically the standard wait time at like 3 out of 4 coffee shops i've been to this year. it's funny how we all just accept that oat milk takes forever when the alternative cow's milk is ready in 20 seconds. maybe it's just me but it feels like a bigger pattern with how everything these days takes longer for no real reason. like you can order a complicated sandwich in 5 minutes but a simple latte with oat milk is suddenly a whole ordeal.
