A VC in SF told me my pitch deck was too busy
After she said 'I can't find your revenue model in 5 seconds', I cut every slide down to 3 words max. Has anyone else gotten feedback that made you totally redo your approach?

Ughhh honestly is a pitch deck really that serious? Like if your idea is good enough and you can explain it in conversation who cares if it looks like a messy scrapbook lol.

Funny you say that, I actually just watched a YouTube video from this guy who used to work at a VC firm. He was saying how investors see hundreds of decks a week and a messy one just gets tossed immediately no matter how good the idea is. It sucks but apparently its like showing up to a job interview in sweatpants - the substance matters but so does the presentation. Makes me think maybe the deck is part of proving you can execute on the idea itself.
