The night my DVR died on me mid-binge of Deadwood
I was three episodes deep into season 3 of Deadwood when my DVR just locked up and gave me an error code. I tried restarting it twice but it basically cooked itself, lost everything including the episodes I hadn't watched yet. Ended up ordering the box set off eBay that same night for $40 and power watched the rest over a weekend. Has anyone else had a favorite show's cancellation hurt worse because of a hardware fail timing?

Man, @ellis.rose is out here acting like losing a DVR mid-binge is no big deal. Guess I'm just dramatic for thinking a fried hard drive and lost episodes is a bummer.

43 bucks for a complete series is about what it's worth honestly. I get being annoyed when gear breaks but calling it "painful" or acting like a DVR crash ruined the show for you seems like a stretch. You got the box set and watched it in a weekend so what exactly did you lose? A few hours of your life waiting for episodes to air. Deadwood was cancelled years ago so it's not like this was a recent thing either. Maybe just chalk it up to old tech dying and move on.
