Hit 100 cancelled shows logged in 2024 alone and I'm honestly questioning my life choices

Was just tallying up every series I've started that got axed before its time and realized I've got a whole spreadsheet now with seasons, network, and what cliffhanger it left me on - anyone else keep a running list or am I just a magnet for heartbreak?

Honestly that spreadsheet is a dangerous game. I had one for canceled shows and then I started adding a "pain level" column and a "how did they leave me hanging" column. Now I've got a whole color coded system for whether the cliffhanger was cruel or just mildly annoying. Ngl you're probably a magnet but also the networks are just throwing money at garbage while killing stuff that actually had a following.

Gently push back on the "magnet" thing though. I don't think you're a magnet, @gibson.robert. I think you're just paying attention to a real pattern that nobody wants to admit. The networks cancel shows based on what their ALGORITHMS tell them, not on actual viewer loyalty. And that "pain level" column idea is honestly genius because some cliffhangers are just cruel and designed to hurt you on purpose. But here's the thing I'd fix in your spreadsheet you're probably missing the "season count" column. A show that got three seasons and then got canceled is WAY different from one that got axed after one season with everything unresolved. That changes the whole pain calculation completely.
