That door lock adjustment on a 1986 Otis took me 4 hours
I spent an entire afternoon chasing a phantom intermittent door lock fault on an old relay logic Otis at the Hudson Street building, swapping three different limit switches before realizing the roller guide was worn down by just 2mm, has anyone else been burned by these tiny mechanical tolerances?

2mm? That's wild lol, I'd have been pulling my hair out after hour three. A tolerance that small on a mechanical part feels like the elevator equivalent of a loose tooth, basically invisible until it starts causing real trouble. Bet you learned to check the roller guide before anything else now.

Did I ever mention I once chased a phantom vibration for three days before realizing it was my own coffee cup rattling?
