Just realized I'd been stripping NM-B wrong for years
Learned from a master electrician in Dallas that you're supposed to hold the knife flat against the cable, not at an angle. I'd been nicking the conductors on maybe 1 out of every 10 strips for like 8 years lol. Anyone else have a basic trick that took way too long to pick up?

Funny you mention Dallas. I worked this job in Plano once for like two weeks and the guy I was with swore by using his teeth to strip the sheathing. Said he'd been doing it 20 years without issue. I tried it once and nearly bit through the hot wire. Nothing like tasting electricity to make you rethink your life choices. Still not sure if he was messing with me or what.
