That flat box technique for inside corners is a game changer

I used to struggle with inside corners bubbling up every time until a seasoned taper at my local supply house in Austin told me to use a flat box for the first coat instead of a knife. Has anyone else tried this and seen cleaner results on their first pass?

I noticed the flat box leaves a heavier mud bed that knives can't match.

@coran63 nailed it about the mud bed being heavier. That extra weight is exactly why it fills gaps so much better on the first pass and cuts down on sanding later.
