I was dead set against password managers until I got hit with a $200 phishing scam

Last month I got an email that looked exactly like my bank asking me to 'verify my account.' I usually spot those things easy, but it caught me on a busy Tuesday and I just clicked without thinking. Lost $200 before the bank stopped it. After that, I finally tried Bitwarden (free version) and honestly I should've done it years ago. It's not perfect but it keeps me from reusing passwords everywhere. Anyone else have a wake up call that finally got them to change their habits?

$200 "stupid tax" but hey, at least now you get to enjoy all those complex passwords you'll never remember.

Haha yeah, that $200 "stupid tax" is a rough one but hey, at least it got you on the right path lol. I swear password managers are one of those things you think you don't need until you realize you've been using "password123" for your banking and your social media for like 5 years straight. Bitwarden is solid, I use it too and it's honestly saved me from myself more times than I can count. The phishing email thing is so real though, they're getting way too good at making those look legit these days. Better to just let a machine handle remembering all that junk than trust your own brain when you're rushed.
