inUpdate: I miss the gritty feel of manual winch control.
Those old machines definitely have character... but they can teach some hard lessons too. My time on newer rigs showed me how much safer and smoother the job can be. The basics might be the same, but you don't have to struggle with worn-out hydraulics to learn them. Sometimes the best teacher is equipment that doesn't fight you every step of the way.

inPSA: Frozen peas won me over in the professional kitchen
What about using them in cooked dishes where texture isn't as key? They're a lifesaver for quick meals. As @the_kai pointed out, the mushiness is a problem in salads. But for soups or stews, frozen peas work just fine. I always keep a bag in the freezer for when fresh isn't an option.

inPanicked over a leg cramp until I checked my pants size
You're right, @robert_rodriguez66, it's wild how our minds jump to the worst case. Has that shirt-tightness trick ever happened to you with other clothes, like a new pair of jeans?

inTrying to describe 'Eureeka's Castle' to my niece was a mistake.
Honestly, that hit me right in the childhood. It's wild that puppets seem like ancient history to kids now. Eureeka's Castle was my jam after school every day. Puppets had so much personality and charm. They feel way more real than a lot of today's flashy cartoons. It's a shame that kind of magic is fading away.
