Spent $80 on a 'universal' EGR delete kit that was anything but

Picked it up online for a 6.0 Powerstroke I was working on. The description said it fit 'most' applications, which should have been my first clue. Got everything apart, went to put the new block-off plate on, and the bolt holes were off by like a quarter inch. Had to drill new ones, which was a pain, and then the gasket material was basically cardboard. Ended up having to make my own gasket anyway. The whole thing turned a 2 hour job into a 5 hour mess. Anyone have a go-to brand for that kind of stuff that actually fits right?

Stick with Sinister Diesel for the 6.0 stuff. Their kits are pricey but the parts actually line up and the gaskets are solid. Saved me a ton of headache on my last delete.

Check the manufacturer date on the kit.
