Swapped out my old paper log system for a digital tablet on commercial jobs

I used to track equipment maintenance on paper logs, scanning each unit by hand for 6 months on a downtown Detroit office build. Bought a $90 rugged tablet last fall and now I update records in real time with barcode scans. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed fewer inspection delays?

Three months in with a tablet on a site in Toledo and my barcode scanner already froze up twice in the rain. Maybe paper logs are slower but at least they don't brick themselves when a little water gets involved.

Right?! Had a scanner die on me mid-pour in a drizzle too...
