Stood in line at the DMV for 45 minutes and realized they changed the system

Went to renew my license at the downtown DMV last Tuesday like I always do, but they switched to a digital queue system where you check in on a kiosk instead of just waiting in line. Had to figure out the touchscreen while three people behind me sighed loud enough to hear across the room. Anyone else miss the old paper ticket system or am I just getting old?

Forty five minutes? Those days are gone with the new kiosk system. They set that thing up at my local office last spring and I spent ten minutes just trying to figure out which button to push for a simple renewal. The old paper tickets had their own problems, but at least you knew exactly where you stood in line without three strangers breathing down your neck while you hunt and peck on a tiny screen.

Tbh @shah.ben you nailed it. Those kiosks are a nightmare for anyone who doesn't have the patience of a saint. I wasted fifteen minutes last month just trying to get a vehicle registration sorted while some guy was literally hovering over my shoulder sighing. The old paper ticket system wasn't perfect but at least it was simple. Now they've traded that for a machine that feels like it was designed by someone who never actually steps foot in a DMV.
