Did you check the load chart after swapping to the long boom or were you just running off memory? Tbh I've done the same thing on a 1050 before with a 30m boom and a 5t block, and the rear outrigger actually lifted about 2 inches off the pad. Had to reset everything and rerig with a heavier counterweight setup. Next time just add that extra tonne of ballast upfront, it's way cheaper than a new swing gear.

Whoa, hold on. I gotta push back a little on that one. Yeah, load charts are important, but running off memory is how we all get the job done fast when you've done the same lift a hundred times. The real problem isn't the chart, it's not accounting for how the ground settles under the outriggers as the load shifts. I've seen guys with perfect numbers still get a lift because the pads sank unevenly. Adding ballast upfront helps, but a quick recheck of the cribbing and a slower test lift would've saved you that whole rerig.
