Disagreed with the crew about using accelerators in 90 degree heat at that job in Phoenix

We were pouring a slab for a warehouse near the 101 freeway last July, and the foreman wanted to dump calcium chloride to speed things up. I argued we'd be fighting flash set and end up with a mess, but he overruled me. Sure enough, we had two guys running finish on a section that went off in under 20 minutes, and the surface looked like a railroad track. Has anyone else had a boss push accelerators when the ambient temp is already pushing 105?

I was stuck in line at the grocery store for 25 minutes because everyone and their mom decided to buy stuff for cookouts. Three registers open, the self checkout had a jam, and this lady in front of me had three coupons that each needed a manager override. The A/C in the store kept cutting in and out too. I get that people love the nice weather but why does everyone flock to the store at the same time? Has anyone else had a perfect weather day ruined by long checkout lines?

Debate: Is hot air rework worth it over soldering for small jobs?

I fixed a busted headphone jack on some earbuds last week and tried using my hot air station instead of just a soldering iron. It was way faster for removing the old jack but I melted a nearby plastic housing a bit. For tiny components like that, I'm starting to think hot air is overkill compared to a good iron and flux. What do you guys use for small stuff and have you had similar issues with collateral damage?
