That one cosmetologist in Tulsa swore by skipping conditioner for fine hair, so I tried it for a month

My hair turned into a sticky, tangled mess after 3 washes and I had to dump half a bottle of detangler to fix it, has anyone else had a 'trust the process' tip backfire that badly?

Oh man, that's rough. I feel like this whole "trust the process" thing is everywhere now, not just with hair but with skincare, fitness routines, even weird life hacks. People act like if you just suffer through something long enough it'll magically work, but sometimes your hair (or skin, or whatever) is just telling you "nope, this isn't for me". It's like that time I tried to "power through" a new exercise program and ended up hurting my back for two weeks, turns out my body was screaming at me to stop. I think we've all bought into this idea that discomfort equals progress, but really it's just bad advice wrapped in a trendy phrase.

Yeah that advice is straight garbage for most hair types.
