Shoutout to that old stylist who let me watch her foiling technique

Honestly, I was at this little salon in Nashville last month waiting for my friend to finish her cut, and this stylist with like 30 years of experience was doing a full foil on a client. She let me just stand there and watch her sectioning. It was mind blowing how she held the foil with her pinky while grabbing hair with the other hand. No wasted movement, no extra products, just pure muscle memory. I took a video on my phone and I've been practicing it all week at home. It's way faster than the way I learned in school. Has anyone else picked up a random trick just from watching someone work?

Watching an old pro work is like watching a magic trick. I learned more about tension and sectioning from a 60 year old stylist in Chattanooga than I did in two years of beauty school. She never wasted a single second or drop of product, and I still use her hair clip trick every single day.
