My Paris hotel breakfast disaster with cereal and water

At the hotel buffet, they were out of milk. I used water on my cereal, and it turned into a soggy, flavorless mess. Who says this is a good idea?

Calling it a disaster seems a bit much, right? It's just cereal with water (which, okay, sounds pretty bad). But compared to actual hotel issues like broken air conditioning or noise all night, this is minor. You could've skipped the cereal and gone for the bread or fruit instead. It's one bland breakfast in a city full of amazing food.

Underestimate how much a bad start colors your whole day. When you're paying for a nice stay and get cereal with water, it kills the morning vibe before you even leave. That initial let down makes every other small issue feel bigger too.
