My go-to research site went down right in the middle of a big argument
It happened last Tuesday night, just as I was trying to pull up a specific government report to counter a point about flight logs. The entire site, which I won't name but rhymes with 'archives.gov', was just gone for about two hours. I had to scramble and use a cached version from a different service, which took forever to load. Has anyone else had a key source vanish at the worst possible moment, and what's your backup plan?

Honestly, that's kind of why I don't rely on just one site. Tbh, I've had that happen with news sites during debates. My backup is just having a few different places bookmarked for the same kind of info. Like for stats, I might have the actual .gov page, but also a university page that cites the same data. It takes a minute to set up but saves you when one goes down.

Wait, you actually bookmark the .gov pages directly? I always assumed those were impossible to find! I just gave up and used whatever news site summarized them.

Smart move! I do the same thing (it's saved me so many times).
