That expensive curing blanket I scoffed at saved my driveway last winter
Spent $180 on a double-layer insulated blanket back in November after my neighbor swore by his for years. We got hit with a hard freeze in mid-December and every other slab on my street has surface crazing except the one I covered. Has anyone else dropped cash on gear they thought was overkill and ended up glad they did?

I don't know, man. "Saved my driveway" seems like a stretch. Crazing on concrete is mostly cosmetic anyway. My driveway has those tiny surface cracks and it's been fine for ten years. Unless your slab is actually crumbling or heaving, a blanket isn't doing much. Sounds like you spent $180 to avoid some spiderwebs you'd never notice from your car window.

Have you actually watched what happens to those tiny cracks after a few freeze-thaw cycles if water gets in them? I had a buddy who ignored his driveway crazing for years, then a couple of bad winters turned a few hairline cracks into actual chips and spalls. He ended up spending a lot more than $180 on patch kits that never really matched. How old is your driveway now, and what kind of winters do you get?
