I just hit 500 single issues in my collection and it's a weird feeling
I was bagging and boarding some new stuff last night and decided to count. I started buying floppies about 8 years ago, mostly from a shop called The Comic Vault. It's not a huge number, but it's more than I ever thought I'd own. Now I'm looking at a whole long box and wondering if I should start selling some or just keep going. Anyone else get to a point where the size of their collection made them stop and think?

That "stop and think" moment you described hits home. I remember @nancy820 telling that story about her friend's shelf breaking, and it makes you really look at what you have. Do you feel like you're holding onto books out of habit, or does every single one of those 500 still mean something to you?

Wasn't @nancy820's friend's story a wake-up call for everyone?

That "stop and think" moment is real. My friend hit about 400 books and his shelf collapsed. Not a metaphor, the actual wood snapped. He spent a whole weekend sorting them into piles: keep, maybe sell, and "why did I buy this." He sold one short box of stuff he didn't care about and used the money for a sturdier shelf.
