Hot take: my uncle was totally wrong about dark roast vs caffeine
My uncle Frank who's been roasting beans since the 90s told me dark roast has more caffeine because it's stronger tasting. I defended that for like 5 years until I actually looked it up last week and found out light roast has more caffeine by volume. Has anyone else been walking around with bad coffee facts from an older relative?

Gotta respect your uncle Frank though, guys like that have been spreading coffee knowledge for decades and it's hard to question them. Tbh the dark roast myth makes sense on the surface because the flavor is so intense you just assume it's packing more punch. Honestly I bet half the coffee drinkers out there are still believing the same thing and nobody's told them otherwise yet.
