My reusable cup request got weird looks at the drive-thru
I handed my own mug to the barista for my drink. She stared at it like it was alien tech. The car behind me honked, making it more awkward. Now I just park and go inside with my cup. It saves a disposable one each time and avoids the hassle.

So, what is it about small changes that freak people out so much? I've seen this with bringing your own bags to stores too. Cashiers act like you're from another planet. It's like any step away from the normal routine throws everything off. We're stuck in these systems that punish you for trying to do better. Makes you wonder if convenience culture has made us unable to handle even tiny disruptions.

Target times cashiers, so reusable bags throw off their rhythm.

My friend Sarah took her own bags to Walmart last week. The cashier stared at them like they were a math problem. He kept trying to put her stuff in plastic bags first, then had to stop and reverse everything. The guy behind her actually sighed loud and checked his watch. It took maybe two extra minutes but you'd think she set the conveyor belt on fire.
