Unpopular opinion: I stopped using the big brush first on old brick liners
For years I'd start with the 10-inch brush on those old, rough terra cotta flues, thinking it would knock the big stuff loose faster. It just made a huge mess and took forever. Last month on a 1920s house in Tacoma, I tried starting with a smaller 6-inch brush and doing two passes instead. The first pass cleared the main channel, and the second with the big brush was way cleaner and faster. Total job time dropped from almost 3 hours to under 90 minutes. Anyone else flip their brush order on certain liners?

Yeah, that's how I load the dishwasher now, small stuff first then the big plates. It just works better, right?
