My call-back rate dropped by half after I started taking pictures of every wall plate I install

I started doing this about three months ago, just using my phone camera. It takes an extra 30 seconds per job, but now when a customer calls with a 'problem', I can pull up the photo and confirm my work before I even head out. Has anyone else found a simple habit that cut down on wasted trips?

Read a forum post from a plumber who started taking a picture of the final water pressure reading on his gauge after every job. He said it stopped the "it was working when you left" calls cold. Your photo idea is just like that, a simple record. The video walkthrough with audio someone mentioned is even stronger proof. Makes you wonder why more trades don't do it as a standard thing.

It's funny how a simple picture can change the whole story... This happens everywhere now, not just with work. People just forget how things really were, or see it different later. A little proof fixes that fast.

My old boss made us do a quick video walkthrough of every finished room. The audio part saved us more than the pictures ever did, because you could hear the customer agreeing everything was working before you left.
