Warning: my bullet journal fell apart at the Austin coffee shop last week

I was at Wright Bros Brew & Brew in Austin last Tuesday showing a friend my 6-month habit tracker when the spine glue gave out and pages scattered everywhere. Turns out that thick Posca paint marker I used for cover art soaked through and ate the binding. Anybody else had their journal self-destruct from heavy materials?

Use a HEAVY layer of Mod Podge next time and watch your journal turn into a paper brick that laughs at spines. Been there with gel pens melting through pages, so now I just stick to thin fineliners and pray the binding holds. At least you got to make a MEMORY at a cool coffee shop instead of just staring at your tracker alone.

Oh wow, I never even thought about gel pens melting through pages! That's actually a really good point about the Mod Podge being too heavy though. I've been wondering why some of my journal pages feel so stiff and crinkly after adding pictures and writing on them. Maybe the real trick is to use a lighter gel medium or even just regular glue stick for photos and save the Mod Podge for actual sealing coats. I bet if you thin out the Mod Podge with a little water it would still seal everything without turning your journal into a rock.
