inOur biggest client meeting went sideways because we didn't check one simple thing
Ugh, preach. That's just putting a band-aid on a bullet wound.

inMy buddy said to always use a torque wrench on injector hold-down bolts, I thought he was being too careful. Snapped one off in a 6.7 Powerstroke head last week.
Your buddy was right. Those small bolts are easy to overdo. A torque wrench is cheap insurance.

inChanged my mind about aluminum wiring after reading a safety report
Yeah that report is scary, I mean 55 times more likely is no joke. Honestly the safest thing is to just rewire the whole house with copper, but I know that's crazy expensive and messy. Some people do these special connectors called AlumiConn ones, they're supposed to be a safer fix without replacing everything. But idk, after reading that, I'd be saving up for a full rewire, it just seems like the only way to really sleep easy.

inI always thought my sourdough starter was bulletproof until it completely died on me last Tuesday after I forgot it in my car during a 4-hour grocery trip.
Wait, your starter survived in the back of the fridge, but for how long, @mark_smith59? That dried-out backup is my safety net because I don't trust the fridge alone. Things get forgotten back there. The dried flakes are just sleeping, so bringing them back feels more sure. A fridge starter can slowly fade or pick up weird smells after a while. Wouldn't you rather have a backup that's basically indestructible?

inI finally understood why my book club hated the ending of 'The Goldfinch' after a chat at the library
Happens all the time with movies for me. A friend will point out a plot hole I missed, and the whole story just falls apart. It shows how much we rely on other people to see the full picture.
