TIL a neat way to track daily habits with a grid

I found this method on a forum and tried it. You make a grid with habits on one side and days on the other. When I do a habit, I fill in the square. I track things like reading, exercise, and meditating. It helps me see my progress fast. My journal looks clean and it keeps me on track. This has become my go to for habit tracking.

lol but like is filling in squares on a grid really that life changing? feels a bit like getting gold stars in kindergarten. i guess if it works for you it's fine, but it seems like a lot of effort for something that doesn't actually matter that much. it's just habits, not a job.

Read somewhere that checking off small habits can clear mental clutter, which honestly makes sense to me. Isn't that the whole point, just making daily stuff easier to handle?

Notice how everything needs an app or a system now. Can't just go for a run, gotta log the miles and share the route. This grid thing is just another way we turn living into data. Makes simple acts feel like tasks to complete. We're so busy tracking life we forget to actually live it. The goal should be doing the habit, not checking the box.
