Hot take: I used to fill every page of my bullet journal with color and stickers
For two years, my journal looked like a scrapbook. Last month, I saw a simple setup from a user named 'MinimalistMeg' on the bujo subreddit. Now I just use a black pen and a highlighter, and I get way more done. Has anyone else gone from super artsy to super basic?

Remember trying to color code my entire life with a 12 pack of fineliners. Spent more time picking shades of blue for "errands" than actually running them. My weekly spread now is just angry pencil scrawls on a napkin half the time, but the car still gets its oil changed.

That shift is so real. Did you find it was just about saving time, or did something deeper change in how you see planning? Like, did the fancy pages start to feel like a chore you had to perform, instead of a tool you actually use? I know I started to hate my own journal when it felt like I was failing at art class every time I missed a day.

Oh man, "failing at art class" hits hard, @elizabeth_ramirez. I had this whole sticker and washi tape system that made my planner look like a kindergarten craft project. The turning point was when I spilled coffee on a week's layout and just started writing my grocery list right over the ruined flowers. Felt more useful than it had in months.
