The farmer's market on Vine Street totally changed how I pack for flights

I was at the farmer's market last Saturday and saw a guy selling herbs in those mesh produce bags. It hit me that I've been packing my clothes in heavy duffel bags for years. Now I use lightweight reusable shopping bags to separate my clothes and they weigh almost nothing. Anyone else found random household stuff that works better than travel gear?

Wait, has anyone else had a friend who swears by using old pillowcases for packing? Actually, I had this friend who was a total mess with her suitcase, always overpacking and running late. One time she grabbed a bunch of her grandma's old pillowcases from a closet on her way out the door, just to throw her clothes in. Now she uses those things like they're magic or something, says they keep her shirts from wrinkling and she can just shove them in any bag. Honestly, it's kind of genius for how random it sounds.

@lily230 I get the pillowcase thing but honestly I don't see it keeping shirts wrinkle-free. I've tried using regular pillowcases before and my collared shirts still came out looking like I slept in them. The mesh bags at least let air move around so nothing gets too smashed.
