Cleaned out my old work truck and found my first trowel from 1998.

I kept it as a backup for years, but when I held it again I realized I've laid over 750,000 bricks with that one tool. It felt weird to think about how much has changed since I started, but that old trowel was there for all of it. Do you guys still have your first piece of gear, or did you toss it when you upgraded?

Maybe it's just me but benlewis, old tools feel like proof you learned something real.

Honestly that's a lot of bricks but it's just a tool right? Like benlewis asked why keep it, and I get having memories but it's not like the trowel did the work. Tools wear out, you get new ones that work better. Seems like people get too attached to stuff sometimes.
