Warning: That $400 brand audit template was a total money pit
I bought a fancy brand audit template from a 'guru' last month, paid $400, and it was basically just a list of generic questions I could have Googled for free. The kicker? It told me to analyze my social media engagement, but it gave zero guidance on how to actually fix what it flagged. I spent a whole weekend filling it out, and the final report was just a bunch of buzzwords with no real strategy. Has anyone else gotten burned by overpriced brand 'frameworks' that don't actually apply to your real customers?

Ditch anything that just gives you a list of questions and calls it a strategy. Real brand work comes from talking to actual customers, not filling out a pretty PDF. I've been burned the same way and now I just ask five people who buy from me what they remember about my brand and what they'd tell a friend. That takes an afternoon, not a weekend, and costs me a coffee. If a template can't tell you what to DO with the answers, it's not a framework, it's a worksheet. Save your money and go read your own reviews for the real data.
